From Argentina we crossed back into Chile and headed further south to spend time exploring the island of Chiloé. Chiloé was recommended to us by many local Chileans and foreigners as a great riding destination. We enjoyed the easy riding along gentle, rolling roads through picturesque farmland and small fishing towns. It was a calming change from the dramatic, towering landscape of the Andes. The island is famous for its collection of World Heritage churches and colourful wooden houses called palafitos. We also waved to Australia from island’s west coast.
We have more photos of Chiloé here.

Your looking well Fi – how’s the vegan menu going?
Hi Fiona! Vegan, only when self catering. Vegetarian, sometimes. Managed to find a chickpea curry last night :-)!
